CĂRTUREȘTI CARUSEL EXTENSION
BLANĂRI STREET 15, BUCHAREST, DISTRICT 3

STATUS:

Under construction

The building located at 15 Blănari Street, in the central area of Bucharest, is part of the Historic Center and was built between 1904-1905 at the initiative of the Chrissoveloni family. Initially, it was part of the property at 55 Lipscani Street, an architectural monument designed by Nicolae Cuțarida.

Currently, the building is in an advanced state of degradation and is included in Protected Built Area No. 26a – Lipscani, the traditional commercial core of Bucharest. The project aims at structural consolidation, functional reconversion, and extension of the building while maintaining its connection with the neighboring property. The proposed functions include an independent commercial space, offices, creative workshops, exhibition areas, and public food service spaces.

The architectural interventions will restore the historical brick façade according to the original 1904 design, introduce a panoramic glass elevator, and create a winter garden that will allow visibility of the historic façade. The building will maintain floor level alignment with 55 Lipscani Street, and the interior space will be organized around a central atrium, naturally illuminated by a skylight.
