From the first sketches to the first hectares of regenerated urban space, VOCA has grown alongside the people and projects that shaped us. 

Here we’ve gathered a few moments that defined our journey — full of challenges, choices, courage, and spaces that are starting to tell their own stories. 

2021 – Just the beginning 

VOCA Architects was born from a shared vision. Cătălina and Ovidiu Voicana laid the foundation for a practice that believes in the powerful impact of thoughtful architecture. 

2022 – Between architecture and entrepreneurship 

We learned to balance creativity with the reality of running a business. It wasn’t always easy, but we stayed focused on what matters: projects with soul — like Icoanei Gardens, a multifunctional building in the heart of bohemian Bucharest. 

2023 – Urban regeneration. With purpose. 

We stepped out of the studio and into the city. We contributed to the regeneration of over 30 hectares of urban space in Bucharest’s metropolitan area — an exercise in vision, adaptability, and meaningful impact. 

2024 – VOCA takes shape 

Our team grew, and we found the perfect home for VOCA: a character-filled house on Grigore Alexandrescu Street 52. It’s in the heart of the city, and it’s where the magic happens. Meanwhile, our regenerated urban footprint reached 80 hectares. And we’re just getting started. 

2025 – Architecture for community 

We began the rehabilitation project of the Pavilion and Amphitheater in IOR Park. We believe cities need spaces that bring people together. And that’s what motivates us most: seeing our work come to life through the people who experience it.
